Cookie & Data Collection Notice

Last updated: 1 June 2026

This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on tricoatpainting.com.au, and the information we collect automatically as you browse. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains your rights and how we handle personal information generally.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies (like local storage) work in much the same way. We keep our use deliberately light — we don't use cookies to build advertising profiles or sell data.

Cookies & storage we use

  • Essential — a small amount of browser storage remembers your progress through the multi-step quote form (so you don't lose your answers) and keeps the site working. The site can't function properly without these.
  • Bot protection — Cloudflare Turnstile may set a short-lived token when you submit the quote form, to confirm you're a real person rather than a bot. It doesn't track you across sites.
  • Analytics — if Google Analytics 4 is enabled, it sets cookies to measure visits. We turn on IP anonymisation so your full IP address isn't stored by Google.

Information we collect automatically

Separately from cookies, we run our own first-party analytics to understand how the site is used. For each visit we record the pages viewed, the time and date, how far you scroll, your browser and device type, an approximate (city/region-level) location, and the page that referred you. We store only a one-way hashed version of your IP address — never your raw IP. This data is kept in our own database (hosted in Sydney, Australia) and is used to improve the site, not to identify you personally.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your data or share it with advertising networks.
  • We don't use cross-site tracking or retargeting pixels.
  • We don't store your raw IP address.

How to control cookies

You can clear or block cookies at any time through your browser settings — most browsers let you delete existing cookies, block new ones, or warn you before they're set. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the quote form from working. You can also use your browser's private/incognito mode, or a “Do Not Track” setting, which we respect where technically supported.
